The Organizational Stability Assessment

A confidential read on what is really happening inside your business, including where hidden friction may be affecting stability, retention, and operational results.

As an organization grows, natural filters begin to obscure the day-to-day realities of the work. The Organizational Stability Assessment is an independent diagnostic that bridges that structural gap, giving leadership an unvarnished read on what is happening beneath the surface, whether attention is needed, and where it matters most.

HOW IT WORKS

01 — We set it up. Redthorne handles the logistics. You receive a structured, ready-to-send brief for your organization alongside a private, secure assessment link.

02 — Your team responds. Employees of all levels respond securely through an independent, third-party portal. By focusing on practical, day-to-day workplace conditions and how they affect the work, the assessment gives employees a place to speak openly about what they are experiencing.

03 — We analyze & translate. We examine the collective responses to identify if and where your people are experiencing pain points. When strain is present, we trace it to its root causes and determine how it is affecting retention, productivity, and day to day execution. We then bring the findings together to show where your organization is stable and where attention may be needed. Individual responses remain private.

04 — We share the findings. You receive a Diagnostic Booklet and a private Strategic Review that bring the results together, explain what matters most, and give leadership a clear place to begin.

Exploring Beneath the Surface

The feeling that brought you here, now on the surface.

Most survey systems organize feedback around questions, factors, benchmarks, and focus areas. Redthorne goes beneath the result to identify the specific workplace conditions contributing to it, the business effects occurring alongside those conditions, and the order in which they deserve leadership attention.

At the end of the assessment, you receive an organized Diagnostic Booklet that shows the overall shape of your organization, then takes you beneath each result to explain what employees are experiencing and how it may be affecting the business. A broad label such as workload strain or process friction is only the beginning. Leadership still needs to understand what is creating that strain.

Depending on what employees report, Redthorne may uncover root causes such as:

  • Boundary Bleed: Work regularly extends beyond expected working time or into employees’ personal time.

  • Attendance Security: Using sick leave or taking time away creates operational pressure or workplace friction.

  • Talent Utilization Gap: Employees’ professional experience, prior training, or broader capabilities are not being fully used in their current work.

  • Ownership Gaps: Unclear task boundaries allow work to be duplicated, missed, or added to existing workloads without planning.

  • Administrative Bloat: Recurring meetings, check ins, and administrative updates fragment the workday, leaving less uninterrupted time for core responsibilities.

  • Tech Glitches and Support Delays: Software, hardware, or computer problems disrupt the workflow or require employees to rely on manual workarounds.

Identifying the root cause is only the beginning. Redthorne then shows where it is affecting the business, how often those effects occur, how it is influencing retention, and where it belongs in leadership’s priorities.

What the Diagnostic Booklet shows

01. Stability Overview:

A clear view of where the organization is holding steady and where strain is present.

02. Root Causes:

The specific workplace conditions creating strain within each affected area.

03. Business Impact:

How those conditions are affecting quality, speed, productivity, innovation, capacity, continuity, cohesion, or attendance.

04. Impact Frequency:

How often the identified effects are disrupting employees’ daily work.

05. Retention Risk:

How the underlying conditions are influencing employees’ commitment and intent to stay.

06. Operational Priority:

Where leadership attention is needed, what should come first and what can reasonably wait.

07. Business Seal Determination

Every Organizational Stability Assessment includes a determination of whether the organization meets Redthorne’s current Business Seal standards. Organizations that qualify receive the Seal and a public verification record at no additional cost.

The Business Seal is based on the completed assessment results and is not guaranteed by purchase.

Built with discipline, not guesswork.
Redthorne’s methodology draws from established practices in employee research, industrial and organizational psychology, user experience research, Lean Six Sigma, and operational analysis.

Each discipline contributes a different lens. Together, they help us structure questions carefully, reduce ambiguity, and uncover friction within the organization’s structure. This allows us to separate isolated concerns from broader organizational problems and translate the findings into information leadership can use.

Redthorne brings these practices together through its own proprietary assessment, scoring, and prioritization process. The complexity stays behind the scenes. Leadership receives a clear explanation of what is happening, why it matters, and where to begin.

Abstract geometric shapes carefully balanced to represent the disciplined research and analysis behind Redthorne’s Organizational Stability Assessment. Read frequently asked questions.

Protected by design.

People are more likely to give honest input when they feel safe enough to give it. Confidentiality is not an extra promise added to the assessment. It is built into how the process works.

Independent Collection

Redthorne collects and reviews employee responses outside the company’s internal reporting structure, giving employees a confidential place to speak openly about the conditions affecting their work.

Confidential Responses

Individual responses, names, and identifying details are never shared with leadership. The company receives combined organizational results, never a record of who said what.

Careful Data Handling

Personal information is used only for the defined assessment process and removed within the stated retention period. Results are presented in a way that protects individual employees while preserving the information leadership needs.

That separation allows employees to share their experience without becoming the focus of the findings. Leadership receives a clear view of what is happening across the organization, while the individuals behind those responses remain protected.

Built Around Your Business

Every organization moves differently. Before the process begins, Redthorne works with leadership to establish a schedule that fits the needs of the business, including the participation window and delivery timeline.

We recommend giving employees at least two weeks to complete the assessment. This provides enough time for employees across different schedules, shifts, and responsibilities to participate without rushing the process.

The full engagement can range from approximately three weeks to three months, depending on the organization’s size, participation window, readiness, and internal scheduling.
